Pro-Choice Outpolls Pro-Life For First Time in 7 Years

According to a new Gallup poll, significantly more people identify themselves as “pro-choice” than “pro-life” for the first time in seven years.

In a recent telephone survey on abortion, Gallup discovered that 50% of respondents identified themselves as “pro-choice,” while 44% said they were “pro-life”. In addition, 54% of women agreed that abortion should be an available option, as well as 46% of men.

Gallup noted that while approval for pro-choice policies haven’t been as high as they were during the ’90s, it’s the highest it’s been in the past five years, thanks to “political and cultural events” that influence how Americans view abortion, such as Supreme Court cases, anti-abortion legislation, and violence against women or abortion clinics.

“While events like these may continue to cause public views on abortion to fluctuate, the broader liberal shift in Americans’ ideology of late could mean the recent pro-choice expansion has some staying power,” they observed.

First we had the number of people that wanted to legalize weed outweigh the number of people that wanted to keep it illegal. Then we started having more single/unmarried people than married people. Now we finally have more people in favor of pro-choice. And that's not to mention the steady decline in all the nonsensical religious belief and the rise of more and more atheists in favor of logical thinking.

And to all of that, I say it's about fucking time we started moving away from all that bullshit toxic and ignorant way of thinking of the past and finally push forward into a new progressive era.

So you are saying that these things change?

Oh a joke about the south! Hahaha

Pretty sure England has cornered the market on teeth jokes.

Next time I would go with incest or moon shining. That's their thing down there

I don't think that those on the pro-life side understand that you can be pro-choice but at the same time not necessarily support abortion. That's my position. I'm pro-choice but I wouldn't be comfortable advocating a woman to get an abortion. But at the same time that doesn't mean that I think women shouldn't have that option, they have that choice available to them. That's why it's pro-life or pro-choice, not pro-life or pro-abortion.

So you are basically saying that 7 years ago the pro abortion crowd was in the majority then they lost their majority status. Nothing is more entertaining when leftists start to believe that everybody agrees with them, only to get taken to the ceiling and dropped on your heads.

It will happen again, and it is going to be fucking delicious.

So you think the support for same-sex marriage will go down? Pot legalization?

I don't know Ice. I have certainly been on the losing end of issues lately.

That is a big part of me being smarmy and rude sometimes. This next general election will be the barometer for me. If conservative ideas don't win this time, I think I will concede defeat and just hope I have a good retirement.

The political tides do change, but demographics are unlike any during my lifetime. Millennials play a big part and a lot of them are starry eyed drones.

We'll see. It is my nature not to accept defeat easily.

Fight to the bitter end its one thing that makes Americans great.

About as much chance as Gavin Newsom has lol. Run Gavin Run!

You haven't been right prognosticating one election result since you became active in the politics section.

No left whacked former mayor of San Francisco will ever have a snowball's chance in hell of being elected president. But hey we all have our dreams to hold on to.
